Want to Support War Victims in Ukraine? Here's How You Can Help

As the Russian invasion of Ukraine unfolded, international humanitarian nonprofits mobilized to help Ukrainians in a country that remains in the grip of war.

Ukrainians woke up to war on Thursday, February 24, 2022, after airstrikes led by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Bombs and shelling by Russian troops continue to escalate as people flee their homes and seek safety.

By 16 April 2023, The New York Times reported that documents in the 2023 Pentagon document leaks estimated 189,500 to 223,000 Russian casualties, compared to 124,500 to 131,000 Ukrainian casualties. Also, more than 8.2 million people have now fled Ukraine because of the Russian invasion, according to the UN Refugee Agency.

For those wondering how you can support, here are some verified groups that accept donations for medical supplies, humanitarian aid and on-ground volunteers.
